COVID-19 has affected our world and communities in more ways than we could have imagined. But, community is grounded in solidarity and defined by its strength.
Social Dance for Social Change is reclaiming Black narratives for Black & Brown people, giving African Diaspora culture its rightful place in American culture, fostering learning & creativity, and spreading the joy of dance. This School aims to create safe spaces for healing & connection, and a creative environment for leadership building & consciousness raising through our FREE online dance classes and our artist/scholar lecture series, our mentorship program for emerging Black artists and our community engagement platform, Every Body Move. Camille A. Brown & Dancers is proud to celebrate community and our shared humanity by empowering all of us to use our creative capacity to build the world the way we want to see it!”
During the pandemic we've stayed connected to thousands of you through our free online Social Dance for Social Distance classes and talks and through our virtual Every Body Move workshops for NYC public school students.
Please stay tuned and stay in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
If our work has moved or inspired you, please make a tax-deductible contribution, of any size, to Camille A. Brown & Dancers today.

Every body move during the covid-19 pandemic
During these unprecedented times of Social Distancing and Quarantine, CABD’s community engagement initiative, Every Body Move, has made it a priority to continue to connect with the community we serve. From virtual instruction, to outdoor, socially distanced workshops, we are excited to offer a creative outlet for elementary school children and teens that is hands-on, relevant, fun, empowering, but most importantly, safe.
EBM 's Black Girl Spectrum activities are made possible, in part, with support from the Tides Foundation, Grantmakers for Girls of Color, the Harkness Foundation for Dance, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and the New York State Council on the Arts.
